How often do you change your child's pjs/sleepsuit?

I haven't got a routine on this one and wondered what everyone else does? Do you treat them like clothes and change them daily or like bedding and change them weekly (-or whatever)?

Every Night for pj's (they all eat breakkie in them)
Once a week or maybe once a fortnight for sheets and pillow cases, once a month for duvet covers.

waterfalls · 10/05/2006 20:24

Pjs and nighties everynight, I dont know why, but I just cant bear to put worn clothes back in the drawer, even if they are prestine clean, I just bung them in the washing basket..................Hmmmmmmmmmm, maybe thats why we are on our 4th washing machine in 5 yearsGrin

I have just stopped putting ds in a clean pair every night as a matter or course. Like Greeny's boys, he has his breakfast in them so they only last to the second night if we are lucky!

I aim to clean his grobag once a week but in reality it doesn't get done that often. We only have one, and no tumble drier, so it requires a certain amount of forward planning to get it washed and dried in time for bedtime.

Sheets get changed once a week.

SenoraPostrophe · 10/05/2006 20:42

"treat them like clothes and change them daily" huh? who changes clothes daily? I do find a bib helps though.

pjs get changed when they stick or when encrusted with porridge.

SenoraPostrophe · 10/05/2006 20:42

when they stink I mean.

motherinferior · 10/05/2006 20:43

The answer here in the Inferiority Complex is "occasionally".

cornishmummy · 10/05/2006 20:52

waterfalls, am with you on that! I can't put worn clothes away in the drawer either. I change my kids pj's daily as they have mild eczema and they wear them in the morning playing with the dog/ eating breakfast etc. Sheets I am getting better at now about once weekly as dd2 is 18m and life is returning to normal!

I'm with MI on this and will say "often enough" Grin

Marina · 10/05/2006 20:56

Ours don't breakfast in theirs so once or twice a week - usually at their request.
Shock good for your dd batters! Ds looks as though he has been bog-snorkelling in his uniform by the time I pick him up! Almost all of it has to be clean daily. Tie only escapes the horror.

motherinferior · 10/05/2006 20:56

...although I would use a fairly, ahem, elastic definition of the word 'enough', Beansprout Grin

Bozza · 10/05/2006 22:24

Mine breakfast in their pjs as well. But still only 2/3x a week. And I don't put them back in the drawer - I put them under the pillow (DS's) where he invariably can't find them and just throw DD's into her cot among the assortment of screwed up summerweight grobag and various soft toys.

hulababy · 10/05/2006 22:25

We don't put PJs back in the drawer. They go under her pillow.

essbee · 10/05/2006 22:26

Every other night generally. I have a thing about keeping clean though (which you'd laugh at if you saw my house!).

tjacksonpfc · 11/05/2006 07:11

my dd and ds babygrow/pjs get changed daily they have breakfast in them then they go straight in the washing machine they have a bath every night other wise they dont sleep so they have clean ones then.

plummymummy · 11/05/2006 11:56

well I change ds's daily or every other day but not because I think the pj's are dirty - I just love the smell of clean sleepsuits etc and snuggling him at bedtime is so much nicer. I'm not anal - honest!

youngmama · 11/05/2006 20:13

biglips · 11/05/2006 22:02

MummyToToby · 12/05/2006 16:04

all underwear, vests, clothes, pjs, sleepsuits daily.
grobags, blankets, sheets, duvet covers, pillow cases weekly.
coats and jackets .. when they get dirty Blush!!

dinosaure · 12/05/2006 16:05

Pyjamas usually worn for three nights unless they are obviously dirty/smelly.

SparklyGothKat · 12/05/2006 16:13

Pj's clean ones every night. Bedding once a week (more for DD2 as she still wets the bed)
