Age gap between dc1 and dc2

I think this has probably been done loads before but I couldn't find a discussion on it!

Dd was one in July. I would like I think a two year age gap but when speaking to my grind yesterday she said her gap of 2.5 years was too close and couldn't enjoy her dc2 as much as she did dc1.

I love being a mummy now and would eventually like three kids but I was just looking other people's experiences in relation to their age gap between dc1 and dc2.

14 years between dc1 and dc2...actually I only had dc2 when I realised what a really lovely time I'd had bringing up dc1 and wanted to do it all again. I have one leaving secondary school before the other starts nursery, but wouldn't change the gap for anything...loving every minute!

Wow. Thank you for all your replies. Took me 19 months to get caught with dd so will just have to watch this space!

There will be 20 months between ds1 & ds2 when he arrives come November and if one more person makes another "Ooh you'll not know what's hit you" type comment I will scream :-(
I do worry that ds2 won't get the same 1:1 time that ds1 has had and that ds1 will begrudge having to share us with an imposter to start with but at the end of the day we'll do our best & probably manage to make a reasonably good job of it as both of our boys will be loved to bits!
I fully expect to be utterly frazzled for the next few years (decades?) and intend to carry on regardless!!!!!
