Morning poo waking up daytime potty trained ds

How do you stop them pooing in their nappy in the morning???! It's driving us crazy. We try so hard to get him to do one before bed but it just doesn't happen most nights, which results in a full-blown release between 6-6:30am most mornings. The mornings he doesn't wake with a poo he sleeps to near 7am or beyond. So I'm sure he's going into a light sleep around 6am and then can't help but relieve himself. Ofcourse he never goes back to sleep once it's happened and he calls for us to change it. He's 2.9 btw.

Daytime he's pretty much trained (since 2.3)telling me when he wants a poo & wee. We've still got the odd nap time poo in pants (see other thread!), but they seem to happen on very 'loose' days (sorry tmi).

How do you stop the morning poo?

With my son i got up and take his pullups off before he has a chance to go in them. First few times were a mess.... but he now takes them off as soon as he wakes and takes himself off to the toilet.

Was the same here dd is 3y4m
We started off doing groundwork. Telling dd that nappies were not for pooing in, and we also noticed that on days when we woke her at 7am rather then let her sleep in, she was clean
on these days we started a star chart, this has done the job!

Ds is also 3y4m.

Unfortunately he still can't wipe himself properly so I don't put a potty in his room and he can't get to the bathroom as we have a stairgate on his door to stop night wanderings. DH gets up at 6:15am but sometimes ds beats him to it! I will talk to dh about it and see if he can get him up when he gets up. You're right ds doesn't seem to do a poo once in pants (except at nap times argh!). We'll try it out.
