Would you still reinforce your own rules on holiday with dd and her friend

I am going on holiday at Easter with my dd and her friend. Now I believe in children eating a good breakfast eg cereal and toast or yohgurt and fruit etc. When this girl has stayed over she asked for crisps for breakfast, I was horrified. So on holiday I want to say as long as you have had a decent breakfast then I really don't care about the rest of the day, as there will be so many temptations and it is only for four days. Am I being too harsh ?

No. Set your rules clearly now if you're taking this girl away with you.

possible she may not be hungry at breakfast or not used to it perhaps provide aconitental breakfast with rolls and cereal or ask her before you go what cereal she would like

my dd is 6 and her friend is 7, she quite often turns up at kids club club with an ice pop for breakfast. She is also vegetarian but will eat a roast dinner with the meat taken off, so still the gravy etc ! At least if I know they have had a good breakfast they can eat junk for the rest of the day
Also her mum as well as giving me some money for food etc is giving her daughter some spending money which I know from previous experience will all go within the first hour, do I hold some back ?

yes i would have my own rules. if she doesn't want the breakfast you offer then that's up to her... but i certainly wouldn't provide crisps or other crap instead

Your holiday - your rules!

I agree, your rules. She may find she actually likes to eat a good breakfast, wonder where all her energy is comming from.
