Hi,

I have a friend who's 2 wk old baby has stopped breathing twice whilst having her bottle feed, the midwife has said it is very common and told her what to do, but i was just wondering if anyone else has had any experience of this. Or know where i can find out more.

The baby is fine, mom is very very shook up, can't imagine how scary it must be. She went stiff and just stopped breathing, I wonder if its her milk going the wrong way and her wind pipe closng to protect her lungs.

well i was told when dd small that some babies 'tubes' are too wide(hence colic etc), amybe the baby is swallowing too much?, try a smaller opening on the teat maybe?
