I posted on here about 'missing children wristbands' and a number of people have complained to admin........

This was a official 'missing people' wristband.

I am a volunteer for missing people and was simply advertising a service that benefits missing children....

The people who complained should be ashamed of themselves!!!!!

I really hope ur children never go missing and never need to use the 'missing people' helpline !!! But if anyone ever needs us we are there 24 7 .... Many thanks

Have googled, can't find them Confused

StunningCunt · 19/07/2012 18:31

Looks like they aren't free? www.railwaychildren.org.uk/article.asp?id=906

IawnCont · 19/07/2012 18:32

They don't seem to have a space for a phone number though...

HecateHarshPants · 19/07/2012 18:35

why did you put 'free'

do you have to hand over any money to receive one or not?

BonkeyMollocks · 19/07/2012 18:36

If they are charity wristbands that you just write on them they wouldn't be 'free' due to having to give a donation (usually £1) , same as poppys, daffs, badges etc

ChaosTrulyReigns · 19/07/2012 18:58

Can anyone in anyway link the thread title with the OP's rationale.

I'm quaite used to thinking in a slightly skewiff manner, but it bamboozles me.

But, hey, that bamboozling feeling is rather pleasant, not as nice as perplexed, but definitely superior to confused.

HecateHarshPants · 19/07/2012 19:03

remember bamboozle on ceefax? I used to get lots of praise for being so bloody amazingly knowledgeable.

What they didn't know is every day I'd already played it several times so had worked my way to all the right answers Grin

nannyof3 · 19/07/2012 21:35

The link posted, is not correct !!!!!!!!!! This is something completely different !

nannyof3 · 19/07/2012 21:41

At the end of the day, this is a charity wanting to help families of missing people, if u are not interested in a wristband thats fine, i wasn't asking anyone to buy one or even giving them awY at this stage, all i was simply doing was asking for peoples opinions ..

You have all made ur opinions quite clear..
Many thanks

Just remember if ur family or friends ever need our charity , we will be there 24 7..

I wish u all a lovely weekend

What did your email from MNHQ say?

HecateHarshPants · 20/07/2012 06:55

Then I don't understand.

You say that they are free. I don't understand why it was deleted as advertising. Surely it would have been better moved to the charities board if it was a gift from a charity? Why not email MNHQ and ask them if that's an option?

So you call or email this charity, ask for a band and they pop one in the post for you? No cost, not even postage?

How do they cover their costs? Do they fundraise?

Really, if it is a charity, giving things away, tell that to the admin (we call them MNHQ) and ask them, like I said, to put it on the charities board.

here is a link to it. click here
