After reading the bath thread i thought i'd see if i could get any tips on this! My dd 2.8 has lots of hair and HATES having it washed. I have tried to do it in the bath but that was worse. At the moment i have her on my knee backwards over the top and tail bowl but i think it hurts her neck. Then we have to "go to the hairdressers " in mammys room, it's all distraction! Basically, i wonder if anyone has any miracle tips as there must be an easier way to do it

I take mine in the shower with me when they are little, and just let the soapy water run off my belly onto their heads. Seems to work, and they love playing with toys at my feet.

Ds used to hate it (and bizarrely still hates water in the swimming pool going on his face), but we just got on with it and tipped the water over him - seemed to be less fuss overall than trying not to splash him - we still had howls of protest. Now (he's 2 and a half) he sits very quietly with his hands over his eyes, and when we've finished he asks for a towel.

We went through a really difficult phase wehre every time we even threatend a hair wash DS stood up in the bath and sreamed hysterically until he was sick - literally.
We eventually persuaded him into the shower - (after an accident to wash off the poo) and ticked his tummy with the shower hose. From there it was a gradual thing to getting him to lean back a bit and "accidently" get his hari wet and from there to washing it very very quickly and carefully- a bit hit and miss the first few times but now it works a treat.
He was probably a similar age when we cracked it - so just recently. HTH
