Has anyone bought 2nd hand re-usable nappies from ebay (or anywhere else).
I can't afford to fork out for new ones really. But am a little bit put off by the idea of used ones.
I have DS who is 21 months and another due sept, I was going to go down the re-usable route to begin with, but due to various reasons it never happened, but feel now might be a good time to give it a go.
I already have a trial pack of kooshies and tots bots. I am concerned that with the Kooshies the plastic might start to go hard and crack.
Any advice?

Cheaper? Don't really know how much the washer / tumbler costs, but surely it can't cost £5/week to do 2 loads, which is the minimum we'd spend on Pampers. Remember you can use reusable wipes too if you're feeling really keen !

I have spent quite a lot on nappies, but even for 40 nappies, second hand at £5ish each, that's only £200ish. Plus wraps, I'm sure I've spent less than £300. They will do both of my children, and still have some resale value, as they are still of worth when thin and elasticless if you get the right brand!

Mabel1973 - if you're interested in buying nappies, I'm just about to advertise some absolutely brand new unwashed Tots (rainbow and normal) for £5.50 each. I bought a big batch, and don't need all of them! Otherwise, good luck with your bidding on E-bay

I've got the following rainbow tots:

1 lilac
2 yellow
1 pink
1 blue
1 green

They are all size 1's. I've also got some size 1 white and unbleached. My size 2's are all white or unbleached.

I would be looking for size 2's really.
I lost out on ebay last night ...by 15p v. annoyed, but couldn't be bothered to sit and watch it at 10pm at night.
There are some more coming up, so ill keep my eye on them

Mabel, is that your real name? It's very unusual these days, but it's lovely name.

mabel1973 · 17/02/2006 07:32

Hi Maisie - not it's not - it's Nicola.
bit of strange story but just before I joined mumsnet my favourite cat ( we had 4) mabel was knocked down and killed, so my log on name is in her honour, plus my DOB!
Is Maisie your real name, as this is the name we have chosen if the baby we are expecting is a girl!

My full name is Margaret, but I've always been called names that are short for that, like I was called Daisy when I was little, and when I moved to Scotland years ago I started getting called Maisie, which apparently is short for Margaret in Scotland.
