hey ladies, any advise on this would be massively appreciated!!! Were living with inlaws while we save to buy a house- all seemed a lovely idea but in reality, nana & grandad are 30 years behind and dont do anything I ask! They rinse bottles instead of washing, ignore my routines and get baby over excited before bed & have insisted baby is weaned at 16 weeks! How do I keep them all happy?!! :(

  1. No you're not. Your in laws are raising your child how THEY feel is right and you won't say anything because you are desperate to keep them happy.
  1. If you appear to be acting like a doormat . . .
  1. I don't believe a single person has been nasty about your family!
  1. Who hasn't read it?
  1. Can't even be bothered to reply to that.

Seriously stop your MIL giving your baby solids. The reason the advice has changed is because they discovered the likelihood of creating gut problems in later life if solids are introduced too early. It should only be done on medical advice. Do NOT be polite, lay down the law. Your MIL may be setting your baby up for gastric ulcers and irritable bowel syndrome, so unless you're happy to explain to your child when it's 40 that the reason it's having raging gut pain every day is because you couldn't say no to your MIL, I would recommend you do something pronto.

Also, I think it's pretty rude to reply to people who are trying to be supportive of you and your rights by telling them they hate their families.

Ask her about when she was bringing up her own children what sort of relationship she had with her MIL, might make some points hit home.

Octavia. Hmm my husband has a load of stomach problems. Perhaps I'll ask when he was weaned. That had never occurred to me before!
