DS1 was at his dads this weekend. When he came home he said he had pulled some of his dads hair out of his chest and head with tweezers. Does anyone else find this a bit odd? Dont get on with xp so dont think worth talking to him about it. What do the mners think?

ouch! and why??!!! thats what i think!! sorry if u wanted something more constructive!

colditz · 12/02/2006 22:48

No not odd, I would think it is funny. Just the sort of thing dp would let ds do!

charliecat · 12/02/2006 22:48

I think your x is going grey and is getting his ds to help him stay true

Hattie05 · 12/02/2006 22:53

DD finds it amusing to pluck hairs of dp's head, as he fakes a painful scream and rolls around on the floor afterwards.
Perhaps it was a silly game?

tortoise · 12/02/2006 22:53

Hes not going grey and from what i remember he hardly had any hair there! Would find it funny if i was doing it 2 a dp(if had a dp). But not my ds doing it.

But it is his dad,Tortoise, not a random strange bloke

Hattie05 · 12/02/2006 22:55

They don't have to be going grey, to get the odd grey one sprouting here and there

tortoise · 12/02/2006 22:56

Yes thats true.

I wouldn't have thought this particularly odd either for a dad to allow - not that it has ever occured to dh and ds, but it'd be seen as a playful joke in our house with dh faking pain for a laugh.

tortoise · 12/02/2006 22:59

Think its the fact he used tweezers!Think if just grabbed bit of hair and pulled for fun it would be funnier!!

Ahhhhhhhh......

They hadn't been watching Brainiacs on sky had they? Just the sort of thing men and boys love to watch... They were doing an experiment on there about hair follicles and pain receptors, it involved tweezers!

Hattie05 · 12/02/2006 23:02

I'm sorry, can't help seeing the funny side of this thread.

You've really got me analysing in what way an 8 year old may have been plucking his dads chest.

But in all seriousness, i really don't think it sounds odd at all. Maybe your son walked in on his dad plucking a stray hair and conversation developed?

tortoise · 12/02/2006 23:02

No he hasnt got sky.Think has freeveiw.

coppertop · 12/02/2006 23:02

I thought he might've been watching Brainiac too. They've just re-shown the one with the tweezers and hairs.

Aero · 12/02/2006 23:03

The tweezers would make it funnier imo - if ds found our tweezers and asked what they were for, for example, dh would allow him to pull out a hair or two for fun. Really don't think it's cause to worry.
Having said that, our tweezers are crap as I tried to remove a gray eyebrow hair from dh the other day, but had more success just pulling it out with my fingers.

colditz · 12/02/2006 23:04

But it might be worth asking him, because that episode was on this weekend, I saw it. they were tweezering hairs out of different parts of a blokes body to see how much each part hurt.

Just seems a massive coincidence. You can get it on Top up tv I think.

Aero · 12/02/2006 23:05

ps - my ds1 is almost eight. He has a very close relationship with dh, so this would not be odd at all.

misdee · 12/02/2006 23:06

pmsl, probably something to do with brainiac, had they been anywhere where they may have seen it?

if my kids saw me or dh plucking out eyebrow hairs then they'd ask to have a go.

tortoise · 12/02/2006 23:11

Not that i know of.Think i need to relax and see the funny side like you all do!Will have to ask him why he did it. Feel silly for asking now!!
