Well, I lurked in the August one whilst potty training ds.

I had done it the 'cold turkey' way once before (i.e. no pull ups, just go to pants one day and not turning back) with dd but still great having the thread as support.

Ds is a graduate of the summer potty training thread.

He was 2.7 at the time and did great, was out of nappies of a day time within a week and of a nightime within a fortnight.

You've got to be determined though, no changing your mind when they poo in your plants or something.

Top tip - buy packs of mega cheap pants instead of pull ups. Asda do packs of 10 for £3.

Clayhead · 12/02/2006 18:40

Yes Nutty, I think it was your thread I lurked on!

And Asda pants start at size 1-2 for little bottoms

(Potty training starts early for the little clayheads )

They will develop a sudden liking for hide and seek too, but don't worry they are easy to find, you just follow the smell

OK - I still need the shrimp comment explained please. I want to know what I might be signing up to?!

TambaTheDragonSlayer · 12/02/2006 22:51

Does your boot camp cover how to get them out of nappies at night? Ds is 3.5 and still wears one for bed.

ds2 is nearly 2 and still in nappies.

Are we suitable candidates or is doing both kids at once to much?

We're not quite graduates of Cod's post-Christmas boot camp. We started lated though. It was great to be bullied into it. There was probably a point where I would have given in but I knew I'd have to come on here and confess, so didn't. Ds2 has nearly got it cracked, but has been slowed down by a nasty bout of diahorrea this (not funny in a toilet-training ds) but is doing really well.

Tip: DO NOT buy pull-ups, they are the work of the devil. I second nutty's tip about lots of pants.

Good luck all! I'll be cheering you on!
