Can anyone recommend somewhere for nice but reasonable children's bedroom furniture?

We're looking to move dd into a new bedroom, in readiness for the arrival of dc2, and I had found a set I liked from Next. However, the delivery time is going to be much longer than I'd anticipated, so just wondering if anyone can recommend other shops/websites that do decent stuff? We just want something fairly plain & traditional, probably white. Looking for a bed, wardrobe & chest of drawers.

IKEA do a nice wrought iron Minnen bed. The black is okay, but the white is a lovely ivory colour. It also expands to a full length single for when she is older. You can wrap fairy lights around the rails at the top too. They also do a hanging gauze canopy which you could customise with butterfly clips or flowers, to make it a bit different from what everyone else has.

Jojo Maman Bebe do nice stuff but it is not cheap. However their wall stickers are nice and can be used to spruce up plain white stuff.

I got a small bookcase and drawers from a cheap pine warehouse (it was raw wood, with no varnish) and painted them with a water based eggshell paint (no fumes). They look as good as anything from the White company and only cost about £80 in total. I also bought oak knobs for the drawers to make it look like the whole thing is oak not pine.

Also, have you tried Ebay? You can get some great kids furniture, all new, from baby supply warehouses. We got new Cosatto cot from a shop that uses Ebay.

Thanks Praguemum, some good ideas there. Hadn't thought of eBay, so will have a look there. Thanks Seona, hadn't thought of Argos.
