I think my baby (9 weeks but was prem if that matters?) has oral thrush - do I need a doctors appointment?

As the title says really - his mouth is milky and there're what looks like small white spots on his tongue. He's feeding normally and isn't stressed - do I need to take him to the doctor?

** He had his 8 week injections yesterday and I noticed the milky mouth last night - connected???

You can buy the gel over the counter iirc (Daktarin? It's been a while), the Pharmacist can give you good advice. Personally I'd just run down and get some and give it a go - if you're breastfeeding remember to put it on your nipples too - BUT I've had 3 babies, none of which were premies and I might be a bit blasé. If it would help you to see the GP (and get it on prescription!) then I don't think it would be over the top to do so.

Hope your DS gets better soon!

Thanks Mrs D - just rang the surgery and they've done him a prescription over the phone - just have to pick it up! :)
