If you use AIO or Pocket nappies, what do you wash them in?

With DS I had some Kushie Ultra AIO and the covers degraded after about 18 months. I had tweleve and used diposables at night so it wasn't as if I was washing them excessively.

I now have some new TotsBots Easyfit AIO for DD. I have been washing them in TotsBots "Potion" powder, which they recommend to be "kind" to the outers in the hope that they will last as long as DD is in nappies. But it's not cheap and I am not impressed with it's cleaning power tbh.

So, if you use AIO or pocket nappies, what do you wash them in?

I used 2nd-hand Kushies aios for a couple years and Persil or Formil non-bio, 1/2 recommended dose, on 40 degrees easycare cycle was just fine - dc2 will grow into them soon. I rarely did 60 deg plus oxy-powder 9eg napisan) if some were extra icky.

I never tumble dried, which might have helped?

We use mainly Bum Genius and I've always just washed them in whatever non-bio we have around - v small amount, sometimes with an extra rinse at the end. Atm I use Persil I think, because I got a load of free trial sachets free from an NCT NNS and the eco-friendly one I use for clothes is a bit crap Hmm but I've used eco-friendly stuff before with no problems.

With DD I used to wash at 60 because she had a fungal thing going on, but with DS now I wash at 40.

I'm wondering if it's the drying that's more of a problem - how do you dry them? PUL can't go directly on a radiator etc and I don't tumble dry either, have always line-dried (in or out).

Have been using cloth for about 3.5 years now and have never found any covers degrading (and have tried lots of different types) - maybe a Kushies thing?
