Why do you think none of my DD's nursery friends accepted her party invitation!!!??

Not sure where to post this but my daughter is four at the end of the month. She is obsessed with having a party and has been for ages. (I think she takes after her grandmother who is a bit of a party animal - very unlike me)! Anyway, we moved a few months ago and she is at a new-ish nursery. Apart from friendly hello's I don't know the other Mums and Dads. I have invited her entire nursery class to her party (about 18 kids) ... and (as yet at least) no response. Why do you think this is? Is it because I don't know the Mums/Dads? Something else? I will be pretty devastated for my DD if none of her nursery friends come, and feel as though it's my fault ... but have no idea why and/or what to do! Has anyone got any thoughts? How do I make this OK for my DD? This issue is currently significantly the most stressful issue in my life, despite money/job etc worries! Thanks in advance!

I read the title of your post and my heart froze. I can so imagine your worry. We all want our little ones to be loved by everyone don't we? I hate the idea of anyone causing my two pain. Which is going to be hard for me because it will happen.

But I was very relieved to read down the posts and realise that you are very likely worrying too soon. I'm dreadfully badly organised, and will generally reply the week before feeling bad because I haven't done it sooner.

I'm sure it will be a lovely party.

my dd was the new girl in nursery, and like you i was worried when no one replied to party invites and was a little nervous of asking the other mums if they got the invites as id didnt really know them so what i did was send out get to know you invites to all the mummies inviting them along too for coffee and cake...all ended well and we all had a lovely time, another mum did the same for her dds party and now it seems to be a regular thing, also for the nursery children i put no presents please as i know how expensive nursery/school parties can get

Its much too soon to worry. If it gets to 2 days before the party and still have no responses then maybe wonder why not, but don't worry at all before that. Smile
