After I had put my DD (12 weeks) down for a nap yesterday, I decided to epilate my legs as they hadn't been done for quite some time. DD woke up after a short while and needed feeding, changing, cuddles, playtime etc, before I knew it, it was time to make our dinner and put DD to bed.

It wasn't until I came down later in my dressing gown and DH started laughing, that I realised I never got round to doing the other leg, and I had one leg smooth and soft enough to rival any baby's bottom, and one that Chewbacca would be proud of!! Grin

Please share your busy mummy moments so that I don't feel quite so silly!! Grin

(can type one-handed, as feeding now, but can't sort out vat return, cos it requires both hands and lots of concentration)

SuchFunSuchFun · 21/01/2012 16:22

you have my sympathies, I've figured lots of things one handed but there are limits!!

bloody child doesn't seem capable of finishing o task either - she's been pulling at my nipple like mad! you don't like, then detach, don't grip the nipple and pull your head around like a dog biting a bone!! Shock

Cut my toe nails for the first time in weeks today (DD is 11 weeks) they were so long like weird fingernails. Not quite sure how I've been getting my shoes on!

Cherrypi · 21/01/2012 21:39

I have one long fingernail as I was cutting them when my 4 week old vomited.

naturalbaby · 21/01/2012 23:15

I have 3 kids to feed, wash, dress every morning so most mornings there are 3 half dressed kids running in completely different directions while i run around after them emptying a potty, throwing away a nappy, moving the pile of clean clothes to the room the child is now in, chasing a snotty nose while trying not to trip over the train track that is now across the landing...

SuchFunSuchFun · 22/01/2012 21:45

nickelhasababy, yours does that too? I'm so glad. Not for you of course, I just mean that I'm not the only one, what is that all about anyway?

She has also developed the unfortunate (for me!) habit of putting her feet against the arm of the chair and pushing really hard so that her head goes past the opposite arm, while she's still latched on Shock

My neighbour did that with her first baby. It was two weeks before she shaved the other leg. You have been warned.........!!! Grin

startail · 22/01/2012 21:52

I'd forgotten I used to only feed in the middle of the sofa so that DD2s legs couldn't kick against the end.
Baby shooting sideways while still attached is not fun.

BaronessBomburst · 22/01/2012 21:53

I still feed in the middle of the sofa - and DS is nearly 2! (EBF)

BaronessBomburst · 22/01/2012 21:54

Sorry, that's Extended BF, not exclusively BF. I feed him chips as well.

randommoment · 22/01/2012 22:03

Not a half-finished job so much as a demented lack of sleep weirdity - I carefully put the bread away inside the kettle and stashed the milk in the breadbin. Thank God I opened the kettle up to fill it the next morning before pressing the 'on' button, as I usually do when lurching around the kitchen at 6 a.m. while not properly awake.

BaronessBomburst · 22/01/2012 22:44

Oh yes, randommoment Grin There's a post somewhere on MN about me being so sleep-deprieved that I tried to dollop mayonnaise on my muesli instead of yoghurt, only I was also so sleep-deprieved when I posted it that I forgot to mention the yoghurt bit and left people even more confused.... My excuse is that I live abroad and yoghurt sometimes comes in jars so it was an understandable mistake.

BaronessBomburst · 22/01/2012 22:45

And if that doesn't make any sense, I'm still knackered.

nickelhasababy · 23/01/2012 13:34

I forceably ignored dd this morning while i got an order ready to post out.
by the time i'd finished (literally 5 minutes), she was screaming blue murder.
