Are there different heights of potty from the floor?

Hi

DS at 25 months just showing interest in sitting on potty -nothing else yet. However the wee soul looks very uncomfortable as the potty looks too small for him - he is a tall boy. Its an ordinary Mothercare potty passed on by a friend.

I really think he needs a higher potty so that he is further from the ground and his legs fit better at the sides etc.

Are other makes higher -any recommendations? Also any recommendations for seats that fit over the toilet as I think he would be interested in sitting on toilet too.

Thanks

i've got a baby bjorn potty from greenbaby which is higher than my others. it is more of a potty chair style which has a lift out section to empty contents

I had this one for my dd - she was almost 3 when she started using the potty and she is very tall, and this one was ideal. It's nice and broad based so it's stable, the seat is big and comfortable and it's higher off the floor than standard potties are.

here though remember reading somewhere that the lower a toilet is the better - less straining and more squatting!

We had this double toilet seat - we found it was much less hassle (and took less time - important when they first start using the toilet) than fitting one of the ones that just fit on top of the loo.
