Do you ever come across a photo of your DC's when they were tiny that takes you by surprise and makes you miss their babyness?

my twin girls are 10 now - I'm clearing out a cupboard and keep finding gorgeous photos of the pair of them all chubby and smiley and just absolutely scrumptious. I feel like I've blinked and missed it all and maybe I didn't appreciate them and make the most of it when they were little.

DH thinks I'm mad and just remembers how bloody hard work it was .... says I've got my rose tinted specs on.

I have a photo up of my day-old son (still with his eyes closed snuggled up to me) and this year he has started at school and now dislikes me cuddling him.

I would be more worried if you didn't have regrets ...

My DD is 9y now and growing up so fast. My laptop screensaver is a random photo of all my photos, changing every few seconds or so. Every so often cute baby and toddler ones come up and yes, I have that feeling of it all passing by so slowly!

Now we have school photos and he's at high school wearing a blazer. Still quite cuddly though as is DS2.

I have a picture of ds when he had just come out of hospital and my dad is holding him in his hands, and he's so tiny and fragile.
Now he's a very tall 5 year old who wants to ride cross country, dangles from the top of the highest climbing frame and is generally fearless.
But he still likes to chillax in the bath with his mummy

I've now reached the point where I'm finding pictures of DS at 10 or 13 and being amazed at how young he looked, and how much he's changed! It doesn't stop

I don't think anyone ever feels they "enjoyed" their children as much as they "should", at any age - its always either hard work or just routine at the time.

yes all the time. i tried really hard to savour all of the babyness but i dont feel i got long enough. it seems to have lasted such a short time. ds2 is still only 2.5 but already feels like he is no longer a baby. he still wears those all-in one fleecy sleep suits and he looks adorable. i dont want him to get any bigger. he is so cuddly. if i could have kept mine around the 4/5 month mark forever i would have. i miss it so much. it almost makes me want to have another!

although i am registering to be a CMer so maybe that will put all ideas of more babies out of my head! or maybe it will just make me worse!! eek. even more now.

I would love to go back and do it all over again. I would be so much better with 12 years experience!

It's the videos of when they were little make me miss that time. DC's are 14 and 16 now and the 16 year old has gone out and got himself a p/t job and went to the gp for the first time by himself this week. Can't believe how fast they have grown up!

Yes, me too. And I really tried to savour it all. I used to sit and gaze at DS and concentrate on the moment and try and commit it all to memory. Doesn't stop the time passing though.

But he's still a cuddly boy at 9 and he takes a blankie to bed, so there's still some remnants of baby in there.

DS2 (9) still has his blankie too prudence. It's the receiving blanket that he was wrapped in when he was newborn.

I have to make a real effort sometimes not to say out loud "I miss the days when you were a little baby" (Wouldn't apply so much with dd as I had a difficult first few months with her, but later on yes, and ds from birth)
I have said "I wish we could just go back for a day and visit that time" and ds (6) agrees it would be nice.
Yes it was hard work and there was sleep deprivation but weren't they cute? Agree videos are even worse for tugging at the heartstrings.
