ear defenders for little baby?

Wasn't sure where to put this... I need some of those ear protector ear muff things for dd who is currently 8 weeks. I want to take her to the diwali fireworks, bonfire night, noisy indian weddings etc etc and it would be nice if the same pair would last at least until next year for festivals.
From a quick google I've only been able to find ones that say they fit up to 7 yr olds, so imagining they'd be huge.
Anyone have any ideas where I could get some mini ones?

Hi, we got some for our DD but you can't use them on tiny babies as young as 8 weeks because their heads are still too soft and the ear defenders are springy and quite strong so they would squash them!

You can get them here but as I said above, they are for over 6 month olds only.

DD was 7 months when she wore hers at a wedding, and she found them uncomfortable even then, trying to pull them off. She's almost 3 now and is quite happy to wear them though.

We took DS, then 8 months, to Notting Hill Carnival with wax ear plugs in, they aren't for babies specifically but quite good cos they mould themselves to the ear and are easy to fish out. DP uses them at night.

Both my DDs have worn adult ones to fireworks from two or three, but not as babies.
This was because DD1 declared that fireworks were" pretty lights, horrid noise!"

DD used the Peltor ones mentioned above - took her to a couple of festivals aged about 6 mo and they were brilliant. She surprised us by not minding wearing them at all and happily napped while wearing them inside a marquee during one none-too-quiet set.

A year later, she wasn't so keen on wearing them, but they did the trick while she was a baby.

if you're worried about damaging her hearing the best thing would be to give it a miss this year.

If you have to, be outdoors for a short time and wrap her up well around her head and ears, which she will be anyway out in the open at that time of year.

Ear defenders are good but for older babies with less squashy heads like Pookamoo says

They were very effective (she slept soundly, right down the front of the audience!) but they were quite snug on her head, and I did have the occasional panic about whether they were 'smooshing' her a bit too tightly.

Nonetheless, I recommend them - perhaps just don't put them on for too long.

I have never heard of ear protectors for babies! You live and learn!

You want something like this for a very little baby - with elastic round them rather than an over the head bit.
