Help! Need your thoughts on risky play for my dissertation proposal

I have to do a presentation on my dissertation proposal and would like to test the waters first.
What do you understand by the term 'risky play' and do you allow your children to engage in this type of play?
What would your reaction be if an early years setting allowed children to engage in this sort of play?
TIA

I have no idea what 'risky play' is

I remember seeing what I thought was an interesting article in the Telegraph some years ago about this and have traced it to:
www.telegraph.co.uk/education/3357024/Outdoor-learning-double-dare.html
It is about older than EY children but might be of interest to talk to some of the people involved for a a wider dissertation. Good luck with it.

Hello everyone,

I need your opinions on risky play for my dissertation.
What are all your thoughts, feelings and opinions on allowing children to take risks when playing? And by risky play i mean climbing frames, using equipment they'd use in forest schools such as lighting fires/using hammers etc.
Thank you x
