my ds climbed out tweeni not fell out
he was perfectly safe. he had dropped the duvet down to land on.
He was 7 mths prob close to 8 mths and walked at 9 mths, he was cruising at 6 mths
All sides were up, it was basic no high evels no drop cot.
He hated it, I know exactly how old he was as I had to buy a new futon for him to sleep with me on for my birthday which was end of September, and he was born in the February.
He was a pretty freaky kid like that though.
My dd was in a cot until 2.5 then into a toddler bed no problems.
Very few kids have problems with cots when sides are up and level is appropraiate for age and development

DS never climbed out of his cot and he was in until 2.3. He did however manage to climb in with his baby sister. However he was 3.6 by this point and used the bathroom step to help him.

DD is 18 months and has never climbed out of the cot. At night she is in a sleeping bag which would hinder her, although for naps she just wears her clothes and has a blanket thrown over.
