Toys to amuse my 15 month old in the car?

Hi,
My 15 month old son is beginning to get a bit bored on car journeys and I was wondering what toys etc would be good to keep him occupied. Are children's sing-song CDs/audiobooks a good idea?
I want him to get used to/like long car journeys as my ILs live in the north east and my parents live a long way down in France!

Any advice much appreciated!

We borrowed one of these from a friend when DS was small and it worked so well, I'm considering buying one for DD. My only worry is that it might cause fights when DS (now 4.5) wants to play with it too!

From an adult point of view the repeatitive music can be a bit grating but if you can cope with that then it certainly seems popular with children.

Song CD's and Audio books do also work well. As he gets older, you could get the CD's that come with the books so that your DS can "read" the story along with the CD.
