In care or fostered as a child? Has it affected the way you bring up/think about your children?

Due to being in care and then many foster homes (never at any point living with a parent), I think I might have a slightly odd Confused way of thinking about my kids.

It's as if being around children/family life is not normal for me, so having never experienced it, I am slightly unsure of exactly how it should go - if that makes any kind of sense?

Wanted to hear from those who may know what I mean?

try the fostering forum... you might find some excellent help there... its foster carers but also other people who've been in care..

I currently have 2 kids placed in care with me - their own mum was in care as a kid so I kinda get where you are coming from...

Hi PipkinSmile

Sounds like we have had similar upbringings, and yes - it is has definitely impacted on my parenting. How are you doing with it all?
