HELP!!! 5th day of potty training and he's got loose stools, should I go back to nappies?

A quick (and semi urgent) poll about what to do in these cases. DS was doing brilliantly (he is having one or twq accidents a day) but this morning he woke up with a diorrea (sp?) bad enough to soak pijamas, grobag and bed sheets (sorry for TMI). Should I put him back on nappies for the day, should I not?
To make the matters worse, after 9 months waiting he's finally having an appointment with a paediatrician this morning, so I really don't want to risk missing the long awaited appointment having an accident right before or during it .... any suggestions? would it be too bad if he is back on nappies for a day? will tomorrow be bad enough as the first day of potty training? help!

TIA

It might mess him up a little bit, but he will be happier and more comfortable than changing pants and feeling like he's got it wrong. I would go for the nappies.

Thanks

Hope (or beg) that tomorrow we won't be back to sqaure one.

I agree, esp as youve got an appointemnt go bacj to nappies

have you got some easy up pants or similar so he can still have regular tries on a potty?

Or even try pullups or feel and learn.

Agree having a messy accident like that in a waiting room would not be good or nice for ANYONE in there!

I haven't started potty training yet but have read in a couple of books (and in mn tips on potty training) that toddlers can get very upset when they have diarrhoea and that you should go back to nappies. It also suggests that you should explain that adults sometimes get an upset tummy too and it happens to them as well.

Thanks, back from the doctor free from accidents, now, how do I know when to go back to nappies? should I leave him on them until he does a normal poo?
