Hello. My sil is getting married in Europe next week and I am flying with my 5 week old DS and 2.5yo DD (who has recently had hip ops so cannot walk!).

Can anyone give me any advice on essential items to take for a baby, other than than the usual gear. And do you have any tips on holidaying abroad with a small baby? Would love to hear yor experiences so that I can fully prepare myself.

Thanks!

The only thing I can think of is a sling.

Remember that they DO have shops and babies where you are going - so just take enough nappies etc to last the first couple of days.

Well, I've not travelled with a baby that small but we went on holiday with DD when she was about four months old and it was fine - lots of hats, sunshades, baby suncream. I bought nappies and wipes over there. She was fully breastfed so that was easy. I took the pram - you can keep right up until you get on the plane which is useful. She had nice long naps during the hottest part of the day. Take things like calpol. Umm - can't think of anything else! Good luck, enjoy the wedding!
