Do you buy birthday presents for all your friends' kids?

Or just when you are invited to a party?

I'm talking more about acquaintances/mummy friends than close friends iyswim.

I have a group of friends from a postnatal group, we get together regularly for 'playdates'. Now all the babies are turning 1. One lady had a little party and invited all of us, so of course I brought a present. The next one to have a birthday went away to spend it with family, I didn't even realise it was her DD's birthday til they got back and she briefly mentioned it at our next meet-up.

Now I'm in a dilemma as to whether I should have got a present for her DD, and for the other babies who are turning 1 over the next month or so. What do you do? Or am I over-thinking this??

No, I don't.....I just buy for the birthday child at parties and the children of a couple of close friends.

i think only for parties is the norm, or for a close friends baby i wouldnt buy it for everyone from toddler group etc
