Can anyone give me an idea of how much it will cost to kit my four year old out for football??

He has been asking to 'play in a football team' for months and we have managed to get him into the local kids club. I have a long list of items that need to be bought, and am wondering how much I can expect to spend??
Many Thanks

Replica kit for a Premier League team is about £30+ (shirt/shorts/socks). Footwear depends on surface, at that age you might get away with trainers, but may want to think about AstroTurf prickles or moulded studs idc.

boots £20
shin pads £5-£7

That's it. He doesn't need special football clothes, he can wear normal shorts and t-shirts he already owns for training sessions. If he gets asked to play in a match, they will supply the team kit.

Get thee to sportsdirect. Usually have umbro boots for about a tenner. Socks £2-£3. Shorts and shirt will be whatever you want to spend!

it's cheap don't worry - no need for replica kits unless you want to (or get last years) - everything you want is at sportsdirect - don't go anywhere else Smile socks - £2, shoes about £8-10 for studs if playing outside or just wear ordinary trainers for inside, shinpads - couple of quid. clothes can just be school shorts and a sporty looking t shirt for starters
voila

do be aware though that once you sign up to a team you are saying goodbye to your weekend mornings - sigh

I agree with Eldonave. My DD football kit cost £25 all in. From Sportsdirect.
( DD has moulded boots & trainers (clarks) )

Make sure the shin pads are not too big for little legs.

LIZS · 23/03/2011 19:18

Decathlon do shin pads from £2.99 ! Check what they play on in case he needs studs or astro boots

Wow thanks so much for all the replies!
have googled spoprts direct and theres one really nearby which is great.
He will be playing on grass, so assume he needs studs??
