Any bright ideas on encouraging toddler to be a leetle quieter around sleeping baby?

i know, i know, you are supposed to get the baby used to toddler noise.

BUT in the meantime, dd2 awakens at the drop of a pin. dd1 (3.10) likes to charge about shouting. I don't need her to be silent, just to adopt a normal talking voice rather than that of an evangelical preacher. but i do hate continually nagging her to keep it down.....

Find her quiet things to do while the baby is sleeping. For DS (who was 2.9 when DD was born, is 3.10 now), we got some new books, some simple jigsaws and some of the Orchard board games for us to play. It got him sitting and playing quietly and DD got to sleep.

If you're too tired for playing then Cbeebies is your friend Grin I've even been known to let DS play on the Nintendo DS if I'm desperate. We've got a game called "I can do it Mum" which is supposed to be educational but most of the time he wants to play Mario Kart Blush

thanks, of course, orchard games.
perhaps not "what a performance" though Wink
