All in the playroom, or in the toy box downstairs.

nutcackle · 07/10/2005 18:50

All over the house, mainly in their rooms and the living/dinning room.

ah a playroom! My sisetr has just had a conservatory built to be a playroom but she still has toys all over the lounge in various boxes!!

In the playroom, in the bathroom, their bedrooms and some downstairs behind the settee. Their stuff is all over the house, just like ours.. Never understood this having an "adult" room where children's stuff isn't allowed!

compo · 07/10/2005 18:54

that's what I think too but dh was muttering the other night about when ds' toys will live in his room and it got me thinking what was the point in carrying everything upstairs every evening only to carry it all back down in the morning!

I think it changes as they get older, though. Dd1 is happier playing upstairs now and we don't mind her being up there, so more of her stuff is upstairs whereas dd2 is only 1 so most of her stuff is downstairs and some is in her bedroom.

Nemo666 · 07/10/2005 19:10

in both...most are now in ds bedroom but we do have toys downstairs too. All the little people stuff is downstairs. I want a conservatory to use as a playroom to but cant afford it..lol

LadyTophamHatt · 07/10/2005 19:12

Ds1+2 are in their room, Ds3 are down stairs.

But it's only like this for afew days after I've sorted them and then they gradually bring more stuff down and more stuff up until I sort them out again.

and on and on it goes.

nannyjo · 07/10/2005 19:13

we turned the conservatory into a play room so they are all in there except from a few in his room to entertain him when were in there. it was nice to get them out the lounge and get some space back cos he had tons after his first birthday.

vickiyumyum · 07/10/2005 19:14

just about everywhere apart from the longe, the only room that is toy free! they spend their tiome either in the playroom or the bedrooms, when playing and come in the lounge to watch tv, read a book or chat with us.

ediemaybeabat · 07/10/2005 19:18

playroom, bedroom, lounge, kitchen, downstairs lav, garage, car, hall.......

compo · 07/10/2005 19:19

not the bathroom then lol

I shovel them out of the bathroom!

Nightynight · 07/10/2005 19:49

in their bedrooms

Monstersmum · 07/10/2005 20:18

Supposed to be in the playroom but they migrate as DS gets lonely! It's usually cars so we have a couple of baskets of cars that he plays with on the coffee table. THAT (coffee table) was the best buy ever!! It's actually one that goes with our wooden garden furniture so DS can do what he likes with it. Usually a car park but it also becomes a stage when he is in rock musician mode!

Some cars upstairs in spare bedroom - have to remove bedding from bed and that also becomes a car park!!

Dd1 is 10 so her stuff is in her room. The twins have everything in their room apart from half of their books which are on the shelf in the living room and their wwoden dolls house is downstairs too so DD4 can play with it too. Dd4's toys are all downstairs coz she is only 2 and the thought of her being upstairs getting into mischief is awful

Pomi · 07/10/2005 20:45

In the lounge.

Aero · 07/10/2005 20:46

Both, as well as various other places around the house!

jambuttie · 07/10/2005 21:01

both

lucykate · 07/10/2005 21:01

mainly in the lounge, but they are all kept tidy in an old trunk and a load of those jute storage thingys from blooming marvellous. unfortunatly the bedrooms are small, no room to play

Hulababy · 07/10/2005 21:32

Before moving we had toys split between the livign room and the bedroom.

Since moving though the living room is generally a toy free zone. Not 100% of time, but they no longer live in here. Some toys are in DD's bedroom, but the main bulk of them are stored in plastic bozes, etc in the understairs area oposite our garden/play room.

twinsetandpearls · 07/10/2005 21:32

All the toys in the playroom, books in her bedroom. Toys are not allowed in the living room, dp is very strict on that and only has to mention loft or bin bag and anything that has snuck into the living room is quickly put back.

Ericblack · 07/10/2005 21:33

Everywhere - kitchen, living room, all the bedrooms (3), car, shared back green, friend's houses, bath.

HRHQoQ · 07/10/2005 21:34

a few in the lounge (as many as will fit into the small 'toy box' we've got in there).

The rest in their bedroom

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 07/10/2005 21:35

mainly living room, but some upstairs. She is still too young to play upstairs really. We have 2 collapsable baskets full and they sit nicely in the corner at the end of each day!
