are you going to pop her on the loo before you go to bed?

[i know nothing about this,i am a mum of one son ,still in nappies...im just cramming for when i have to do it cos im a swot]

MascaraOHara · 21/09/2005 19:41

I think my plan is to go up about 30 mins before I plan to go to bed so that if she doesn't settle straight away I've got some time to play with.

Also have cheated and bought some of those 'wet feel' trainer pants. My thought behind this is, if she wee's she'll know but itt
won't be completely everywhere..

dd started this about 2 months ago, just before she was 4. We finally bit the bullet about a month ago and she has had a few nights of being damp in the morning but not waking, usually when she has slept that bit longer. The Pamper bed mats are good and save washing as long as they aren't too fidgety or flood.

Good luck

MascaraOHara · 21/09/2005 19:47

I've got a bedmat, put it under the sheet - is that right?

I put it over then if she has a mishap it cna be taken off with less fuss.

I forgot to put a nappy on DS the other night, and he was dry in the morning.

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I didn't put her on the toilet before I went to bed, I checked her and she was dry and I lost my bottle to wake her up.

She had a small dribble into the pants - not enough to wake her though and I wouldn't have called it 'wet' she was very pleased with herself this morning and sdhe earned her first 'dry night star'!

Tonight I plan to send her to bed in a nightie (rather than PJ's - ill thought through by me!) with no pants on. then when I go to bed pop her on the potty (easier as will only have to lift nightie) then put the trainer pants on her once she's done a wee.

It was more successful than I expected!

Tonight, is dd first night without, she's been dry in the day for about 10weeks, so thought we'd give it ago, as she seemed up for it. Do i do the star chart now ready for the morning? We haven't used one for day time!
I've put a pampers bed mat on the bed and must buy some more tomorrow. Am i really expecting too much, she isn't three until december?
Should i get her a nightie? She only has pyjamas at the mo.

MascaraOHara · 27/09/2005 12:24

Hi Loupy Lou..

I had been using pamper feel and learn and a bed mat but dd just wasn't waking up when wet (all be it only slightly wet)

Last night I decided just to put her to bed no protection (except bedmat), we had a small accident in the night - she was mummbling so I went in to see if she needed the toilet - I think she was just doing it so must have disturbed herself. Quick bed change and straight back to sleep - I had p[ut her on potty when I went to bed but she wouldnt go.

This morning she woke me up at 6:30 saying she needed a wee - she then took herself to the potty did a wee and a poo and got back into bed.

Am hopeful now and think no nappy or pants is the best way forward!!! fingers crossed for a successful night tonight
