How unacceptable is slamming doors in your house?

Thread about moody 9yo boys got me thinking...

DH goes ballistic (well, he is getting better, but still he goes nuts) if any of the children slam a door in a temper.

Just wondered how "unacceptable" this is in other people's houses.

Hate it but tend not to react too much. Helps to have coats hanging off doors though.

Unfortunatly it seems to have become acceptable here as one of the kids is always doing it lately.

very, very. dd once got her finger caught in a door jam and a friend slammed the door. it was horrible

Not allowed here, even slowly, let alone slamming, there always seem to be a finger or a toe in the way so all doors are left open always.

Well, I'm allowed to do it but no-on else is.

I'm a terrible door slammer when I'm angry with dh. Makes me feel tons better too Gggibblinggobbbling (sorry, wine). But I'm really going to have to stop as I would hate it if dd started doing it. How hypocritical is that?!

my daughter does it all the time. and more often than not it creases me up.

we have those little rubber things on the doors so that dd2 can't trap her fingers and they take some of the steam out of dd1's flounces!

No door slamming in this house but not for want of trying! For some reason our house creaks and groans a lot and virtually none of the doors fit properly so it's impossible to slam them. Sadly, that also means you can't close most of them to keep pesky kids and animals out.

Big nono in our house. Apart from the fact we are fed up with fingers getting slammed in doors and having to spend hours in casualty, ds2 needs doors left open to get about, as he can't stand up to open doors.

It's unaccepatble here, also. I partially severed my finger when a door slammed on it (unitentionally) and having it sewn back on was very painful - so I don't allow door slamming here for that reason (and because it damages the doors and I don't like the temper). They know if they slam a door there will be an added consequence.

It's not acceptable but people do it when they're in a temper.

I wouldn't like too much of it, but one day there will be 3 teenagers in our house, so say no more...

Doors in our house wont stand it. Already have loose hinges but we would rather go on holiday etc than buy new doors plus dh n diy -no no.

have you ever tried to slam a council door? theyre like paper, you couldnt slam one if you tried. i do have some pine ones though which i intended to fit throughout and i got as far as the living room before i ran out of money. they slam brilliantly. no-one ever does it on purpose though. the wind does it when ive got back and front doors open and it makes me jump every time, i cant stand it. but then i dont like any sudden loud noises, makes me drop glasses. would really pee me off if anyone did it in temper.

Acceptable. I think it's healthy to slam doors now and again.

Have very few doors in our house - bedrooms and the loo. Bedroom all have anti slam foam bits near top so no slamming there, bathroom doesn?t get slammed as no-one stalks off into there!
Nope - another no slamming household here - just good old stomping off into another room
