by law in the uk,we are not required to have an health visitor.we have had very persistent health visitors who tell us how to live our lives.they insist on visiting even though we don't want them to,and they ask questions which we find are irrelavant.in my opinion this is a breach of the human rights act article 8. it states : Everyone has the right to respect for his private and family life, his home and his correspondence. what are your views on this? can anyone experienced in human rights/law help me with this please? i have been reported to social services because i don't wish to be seen by a hv anymore.social services have visited us before and closed the case stating we are not a threat to our child and our child is not defined as 'in need'.thank you in advance for your replies

Covering their backs or actually protecting children?

In nearly all child abuse incidents there are carers who are very adept at avoiding intervention by missing appointments and not cooperating with services available.

I don't believe that the HV has not shared her concerns with the OP. The OP may not like, agree with, or possibly understand what these concerns are, but I very much doubt she is being kept completely in the dark about them.

Tandoori, you come across as extremely defensive.

Please write to your health visitor, and ask for her concerns in writing.

tandoori All the threads you've ever written over the last 3 days are about this, in fact they are the only threads you have ever written.

It seems simple enough to solve. Write to social services yourself and tell them that as it is not a statutory requirement, you will not be seeing the health visiting service again and copy in the HV.
