My ds is 22 months, do i need to wash under his foreskin now?

I have been trying to look it up but can only find info on babies. Do i need to wash under his forskin now he is a toddler or is it still the same as when he was a baby, just leave it?

I think you leave them alone. I've never done anything with my boys and he's now nearly 10yrs - with no problems at all.

Last info I saw said that you should totally leave it alone unless told by a doc to do something.

The latest advice and research suggests that retracting the foreskin too early may cause pain, tearing and scarring. The foreskin will retract when it is ready, and by then, DS will be washing himself.

Well I never have. Bit of a wipe if it is coated in poo is the closest he has ever got.

Do you ever have to do this?

My ds is nearly 6 and i've never even thought of doing it, he gets everything washed over in the bath then he spends a good half hour playing in the bath.
