has anyone had a second period of maternity leave from an ESRC PhD studentship?

What the title says, really.

I came back from maternity leave 3 months ago, and have just found out I'm 6 weeks pregnant.

My supervisor will explode in fury - but am I entitled to a second period of maternity leave?

(The ESRC funding guidelines themselves don't specify.)

Oops just seen this - yes, I did.

The ESRC were fine... the university not. Pulled all sorts of arcane rules to try and get rid of me (thank you, union rep) and I had to find a new supervision team BUT

BUT I now have two wonderful children and am about to submit my PhD

Thanks....looks like I am 6 weeks pregnant and bump (all being well) would arrive a month and a half before my ESRC funding end (with another year left for PhD)...not sure whether that will be a problem, hope not.....was thinking of taking maternity in line with the terms anyway so leave month and a half before baby arrives - have two already, so think I might need the break.

hello all, I'm in the same position. I have a 22 month old, which I had in the second year of my PhD and I'm now due a second. So, were you able to get paid leave second time round? I would love to hear peoples experiences. Thanks in advance

I'm in the same position - number two due less than a year before I'm due to hand in (or at least before the money runs out), and I'm afraid they are going to be difficult... anyone else had two lots of paid ESRC maternity leave, with or without having to fight? what happened with you angewilks?

I’m just wondering if there was an update on this ajcmullin? We’re you able to claim your maternity leave with only a month and a half to go?

I’m currently trying for a baby and in final (funded) year of ESRC PhD. I’m just wondering when we should stop trying as I don’t want to have a baby in the month my funding runs out.
