ds (3.5 months) gets very overheated in his car seat - any tips to avoid this?

would be v grateful with any help with this one.

We've got a maxi cosi cabrio car seat, and every time ds is in it for more than about 30 minutes, I find that his back is incredibly hot when I take him out.

His front is generally fine, so I don't think it is the temperature of the car.

We thought it might be the hot weather, but things have cooled down now and he is still really, really hot and I think it is making him very grumpy about car journeys.

We've got two long journeys coming up and I would really like to get this sorted if I can.

Has anyone else had this? Are any other car seats better?

I used to put a muslin behind dd as this seemed to help. Maybe it's the material of the seat. Cotton cools them more than synthetics.

You can get a summer cover - basically white towelling - to fit the Maxi Cosi here for example or possibly put a muslin under him.

Thanks very much ElliesMad and LIZS - glad to know it isn't just us having the problem. Will order the cover and try muslin in the interim.
