Are your kids horrible to each other and rude to you and then when you have blown your top decide they will play nicely together and just carry on with you as if nothing has happened?

yes

Sorry, that was so blunt but I was halfway through gobbling a painkiller as they have bickered and fought ALL day then I went slightly mental and gave them tasks to do - nothing heavy, just some light Victorian chimney sweeping, look for hungry wolves, that sort of thing.

I'm now exhausted but it is too early for their bed.

Mine have been sent to bed.

What do you do when you know they are winding you up and you have had enough?

Drink wine Grin.
Go for a ciggy... actually I don't smoke, but I sometimes think I might start Wink.

yep.

I have a long fuse so they do tend to run riot before I snap (although they will have been told off in that time), then they dash about tidying and play sensibly.

Not allowed wine Sad.
Don't smoke.
Why can't they just behave?!?!
