Our downstairs neighbour has complained about the noise level in the morning.
This complaint has been a big realisation ( once again)that I need to do something about my parenting skills. The (three of them and young) children don´t listen to me when asked to do things, I get frustrated, I loose it, and shout. I am sure the downstairs neighbour does not appreciate this either.
Someone recommended a book on parenting on here recently. It was written by a woman and the introduction has a section about her daughter having a tantrum (iirc) in a supermarket, and how she realsed that parenting was not about controlling her children but about controlling her emotions. I think I need this book! Any idea what it might be? Or any other books on anger management in the context of parenting.... ?
Thanks in advance

How to talk?

here

even if it wasn't that book you were thinking about,it is the one you should get

can be v effective if you are consistent with it

Thanks fusty.
It was another one I was thinking of. I have the How to talk? but have only read half of it and am not very consistent with it. I shall give it another go though...
any other suggestions, please???????

another that I have found more effective is

1,2,3 Magic

it's more immediate, iykwim, but again you have to be really consistent and not deviate from the guidelines
