Having been toilet trained for three months I got a shock when my newly-turned three year old started wetting and soiling again after being away on holiday for a fortnight. After visits to the doctor and health visitor I'm no further forward and basically training all over again! When we initially cracked the potty training it happened over two days. Now five weeks after a holiday things are no better. Any suggestions, apart from persevere and give lots of praise? Nothing seems to be working!!!!

well he obviously CAN do it....

therfor along with the praise etc for succeses i would make the accidents as 'boring' as possible...

make him go into the bathroom... remove his wet clothes HIMSELF, then go and put them in the laundry basket himself....
Then SIT on toilet to RY to do some more (praise if it happens) then wash hand etc
then go into room to get dry clothes... and put them on HIMSELF (as much as he is able to put them on, ie minimul help!

they idea is even if you have an accident you still sit on the loo, wash hands etc as normal + its more 'work!'

also maybe you could get the nice 'bob the builder / whinnie the pooh or what ever pants (perhaps he could choose some more new ones!) and make a big deal about choosing these in the morning... and if they get wet then provode only boring white ones!

With my charge if she had an accident while watching tv it was NOT paused etc.... she would have to miss it, where as we always pause the tv (they have sky+) for them to use the toilet!

If having accidents becomes really tediouse, then they may well realise lifes eaier to actually GO TO THE LOO
