....according to newly released research in America.

Seems very high to me.

What do you think?

OP posts:

I could hardly wait till I was 16, I was so horny.

I took the pill regularly, used condoms and had STI screening with long-term partners when it was time to ditch the condoms.

notnowbernard · 04/07/2010 22:04

I was only with the boy for about another 2m after

And I didn't have sex with my next boyfriend after him... (and we were together about 9m) Just didn't feel 'right'

And have had 11 sexual partners and am 32... so not a massively high number considering I lost it at an early age

(Hope that reassures a bit!)

AF - your DD will not have had a fucked up childhood. She has you and your lovely DH. If she's her mother's daughter, I think she'll be just fine

She won't fall into the arms of the first "man" (in my case, 18 year old) who shows her some affection because she's so desperate for something that seems like love...

expatinscotland · 04/07/2010 22:06

I've had loads of partners .

Didn't fall pregnant till I was 32, about 6 months after DH and I married.

expatinscotland · 04/07/2010 22:07

No fucked up childhood.

I just had a high libido. Still do.

BelleDameSansMerci · 04/07/2010 22:08

expat, I think I have both

tethersend · 04/07/2010 22:10

Have they surveyed mothers at the age of 20?

Or a sample of the general population who lost their virginity before 15?

Because 46% of mothers 20 or under lost their virginity before the age of 15 sounds very different to If a girl loses her virginity before the age of 15, there's a 46% chance she'll fall pregnant before turning 20

AnyFucker · 04/07/2010 22:11

thanks belle

But I am still very scared for her

You will understand, in about 12 years time

BelleDameSansMerci · 04/07/2010 22:23

AF Everything I've typed and wiped sounds wrong but I think I understand.

AnyFucker · 04/07/2010 22:38

I know belle

maybe I should stop projecting my own teenage mistakes

TrillianAstra · 04/07/2010 22:44

Your daughter has an amazing, intelligent, caring mother (and one who would not put up with twattish blokes in either of your lives). She will be fine.

expatinscotland · 04/07/2010 22:45

I had just such a mother, Trillian, and yep, I'm fine!

I don't regret any of them, either (well, a few of the small dick/bad tongue ones ).

AnyFucker · 04/07/2010 22:54

trill, you mean me ?

thanks, let's hope it is enough

omg....teenage girls, she might just be the death of me < counts grey hairs >

expat...I know she is her own person, with her own sexuality etc

just not my daughter !!!!!

expatinscotland · 04/07/2010 22:56

Oh, my mother doesn't know the half of it, AF .

AnyFucker · 04/07/2010 22:57

stop it

expatinscotland · 04/07/2010 23:01
Grin
AnyFucker · 04/07/2010 23:06

just you wait....

TrillianAstra · 05/07/2010 08:39

Yep, you. So were you a teenage mother yourself, or just a bit of a tearaway?

AnyFucker · 05/07/2010 11:16

Erm, not a teenage mother

I was 30 when I had my first child (had a couple of false starts before that though, at 28 and 29)

Put it this way though, I wouldn't want my own dd to behave like I did as a teenager though. Hypocritical ???...yes indeedy

Seriously though, I was stupid in my younger days, got shat on from a great height, had a lucky escape from a potentially awful situation blah blah blah

I didn't get to be this wise old bird without going through that

TrillianAstra · 05/07/2010 11:18

Wise old bird is a wonderful phrase Hopefully your DD can learn from your experience rather than having to experience all of it herself.

notnowbernard · 05/07/2010 11:23

AF, I do know where you're coming from

But for me it's more the drugs and booze than the sex (wrt worrying about the dds' adolescence) I was lucky that I had a lot of 'enjoyable' experiences but, let's face it, they could have landed me in all sorts of strife... and I didn't always come out completely unscathed

But that's the learning process, I guess, as you've kind of mentioned

I think you're right and we need to try not to project our own experiences onto our DC

Must add I speak as a parent of a 6 and 3 year old. Will be eating my word in about 10yrs time

AnyFucker · 05/07/2010 12:43

yes, you will, nnb

I guarantee it

Trill...I hope so, although I daren't tell her all of it

expatinscotland · 05/07/2010 22:25

Put it on Ch. 4 now.

It's about underage people having sex.

And they're being pretty honest about it.

One, Amy, reminds me of myself.

tb · 29/08/2010 17:39

Belle, snap for 14 and first pregnant at 41!

In my case it was my reaction to finding out that my boyfriend, 11 years older than me, was just like all the other paedophiles I'd met and I had wanted to make it 'different' as a way to survive.

FWIW he's now a vicar and I don't think he should be near anyone that's vulnerable in any way - because he's a complete bastard - npd and think Alan Rickman in Barchester Chronicles.
