Can anyone help??? Keep getting really revolting messages through on my phone (Samsung d500 - slider phone). When I open the phone the message is just there. I have just contacted orange and they say they are email messages and they are not able to stop them, something to do with browser/wap settings.

Does anyone know how I can stop them. They really are quite disgusting. thank you in anticipation.

Would report them to the police - it's on a par with filthy phonecalls and, being unwanted, could count as harassment/stalking.

i do not know that they can actually trace them as there are no details on the phone at all - no time of message or anything -just the message and all orange could say was that they come from the internet. The minute I close my phone the message is gone so it doesn't even store anywhere, unless it could be found from my sim card???

there was a code going around ages ago i realy cant remember what it was where the message isnt in the inbox or anything it comes on your main screen, is this what you mean? if it is then they are sent from someone

whimsy · 16/08/2005 19:21

Just an idea but have you got Bluetooth activated? If you have I think your phone an pick up other things being sent by Bluetooth so if someone is sending that pic to another phone in the vicinity then your can pick it up. I think.

lolliepops that is exactly it - i pick up my phone to use it - open the phone up and there it is. I will certainly investigate the blue tooth thing

well its just a code you type in before you send the message it only works on certain networks(doesnt work on geinie) the person types something before typing the message if i remember rightly its a word or something i will ask my friend when i see her. could it just be one of your friends messing about not realising how much your getting freaked out by it

fifilala · 16/08/2005 20:03

the sort of things that are coming through are even too revolting for my friends tio be messing around - and they have never done anything like this before - orange said its like getting spam through email

i had this on my phone about a year ago.i can back you that they are really nasty and sexually explicit Basically when you open them you will be charged for it. i paid quite a lot for it i complained to my network, t-mobile, and they told me to text a number (can't remember the nuumber) and type STOP in capital letters. If you have a friend with a t-mobile network you could probably ring them up from their phone.

My dh was getting these (completely unwanted!!. If you don't use the internet aspects of your phone, ask orange to block them on your phone. I did that with my dh's phone and it stopped the messages. (I also treatened to cancel my tmobile contract if the messages didn't stop, so not quite sure if it was the latter threat that stopped the messages)
