Am in need of inspiration and ideas for a bit of fun, as life atm seems to be dominated by chores/jobs/to do lists/errands/commitments/etc.

Time to myself mainly consists of collapsing in a heap in front of the telly, or staring at the computer screen - (mostly) not very amusing or refreshing.

Would also be interested in hearing about ways of having fun without making an extra lot of work for myself (like planning/hosting dinner parties.....).

So - what do you do for fun?

Well, probably not quite what you had in mind but I went to a lovely PYO fruit farm today and spent a lovely 30 mins in a cherry orchard picking fresh cherries. It cheered me up anyway!

Go and see a band. Or go to a comedy night.

Most recent thing we did as a family that was fun was spend the day at a race track circuit watching British touring car championship and other races. I can't stand motor sport on the telly but it's a lot of fun in real life.

The other thing I do every day is walk the dog! Given the chance (too many injuries at present) I run and my real love is Orienteering, DS(7) has been doing it with since age 3.

That should read "with me".

Yoga? I am thinking of starting again to get some 'me' time.

Thanks for the suggestions. Definitely food for thought.

I went surfing at the weekend in Wales
I went snowboarding on Monday.
I went swimming with DS2 last night and made some bread with him when we got home.
I'm going cycling tonight
I went on a midnight hill walk with DS1 last week.
I got a new bow and arrow for my archery lessons from DH last week.

I'm caving in the Yorkshire Dales in a couple of weeks time.

I'm going to Manchester tonight to go to Manchester Climbing Centre and then to see a film (Please Give) at the Cornrhouse.

I like to have plans!!!
