Been finding things hard recently and started thinking of good things, the lovely things about my kids... dd is just so kind-hearted towards others, no malice in her; ds1 is full of fun and makes anyone smile to be around him; ds2 is so determined surely he'll never give up at anything...
What are the lovely things you see in yours?

Big lovely smiles first thing in the morning. It makes every day a joy, first thing.

The smell of baby lotion and rusks, when you get a hug and a kiss mid-morning. Mmmm. Delicious.

Petting his little head with its downy soft hair as he breastfeeds to sleep. What a nice cosy end to the day. He likes to hold my hand while he falls asleep too. What a lovely boy. I waited ages for my child, and he is a treasure.

Nice idea.

DS is generally a horror, so it's nice to be reminded of what's good about him. Amidst all the Asperger-y horrors, one of his redeeming features is that he never, ever, ever moans or complains.

DD is lovely because she can hold a conversation (I particularly appreciate this as DS can't do it) and because she is such a cheerful little soul with a merry sense of humour.

My dd was sad tonight with the awful sadness that only a 14 year old who has fallen out with her friends, has a new haircut that won't go right and looks in the mirror and sees red hair, glasses, freckles and lumpiness when everyone else sees glorious, beautiful almost woman. Ds, who's 9 said to me" Mum, will you make macaroni cheese and I'll put Monty Python and the Holy Grail on and cuddle up to her while we watch it. No one can be sad with macaroni chees, the Holy grail and a cuddle" He was right!

Aw seeker

I love my DS's battiness. This morning wanting to be a super hero he put pants on over his shorts, tied a cardigan round his shoulders and put on a red and white stripy bobble hat. I suggested he had a quick look in the mirror to check that it looked as he expected. He looked in the mirror and said "I look great!". So he went to nursery like that.
