then discuss it here.

Do not feed the idiot what they want. It wants attention or it wants to upset a sister. Either way you will be giving it all it wants by continuing to post on that thread.

This is one of the funniest threads I've seen for - ooh, must be at least a day!

LOL @ dino

Just logged on and caught up with all this.

I am not a troll.

I was not trying to be rude or upset anyone.

I wanted a convo with snafu, but did not want the other thread to continue so started another one - pls tell me what is wrong with that?

Then i reacted badly to snafu accusing me of being headmistress like and preaching about being an open forum.

At the end of the day, all i was trying to do was not give the stupid troll person their wishes, which was for a load of us to get all irate about it which is exactly what happened anyway.

And i was not alone in wanting the other thread to be ignored.

Nailpolish, why feeble???? and i am not telling people where they can or cannot post, i was just saying don't post on it in case the 'sister' was genuine and could have had her feelings hurt if that post stayed in active convos and she read it.

I too said that we should not post on the thread for the same reasons, and for those who have bothered to check out the whole thing you will see that there were others as well.

I think the reason why it came back to you Hattie was because you were the first to say it (maybe).

Thanks norash, just feeling a little picked on here

I just thought that it was bad enough for her ("the sister") to say such hateful things about her sister, but to log on and you use her sister (R25's) posting name!

Maybe she might not read it, but maybe someone on here will see her posting later and say how could she say such things on the other thread? Then she will know nothing about it and find out anyway.

best thing to do is ignore it i guess although i couldnt resist a on there.

what thread?

Hattie05 · 05/08/2005 18:33

Snafu, d'you realise how pathetic you are sounding??

Would really appreciate a sensible response to my posts as i'm feeling more and more annoyed with this.

Eugenius the thread has now been deleted, it was basically a troll and i dared to suggest that we don't post on it (along with many others) but unfortunately i was the only one snafu decided to be rude, offensive and pathetic about.

Oh, for heaven's sake, Hattie. Let it go. I was joking.

This thread is a genuine mystery to me. Did you really just start it because I said (eons ago, it seems) that being told to post just makes me want to do it more? Really? I'm not trying to start an argument - believe me, I have far more pressing things to worry about - but I honestly cannot see what has got you so riled.

And as for 'rude, offensive and pathetic' well, if anyone has been rude I think it is you, but tbh I just can't be bothered with this anymore.

You may want to read the thread titled, I saw a thread this afternoon.

And then tell me why i am rude and offensive?

OP posts:
Report
snafu · 05/08/2005 18:57

That should, of course, read 'being told not to post...'

Report
snafu · 05/08/2005 19:01

Yes, I have read that thread, and it's a great shame. But what on earth has that got to do with me? I made 3 (throwaway) posts on that entire thread, right at the start. When I left to go out for the afternoon there were 85+ posts, and I would imagine there were a lot more before it was deleted.

Again, I ask you - politely, non-offensively and trying very hard not to be pathetic - what has the outcome of that unpleasant thread got to do with me?

Report
Hattie05 · 05/08/2005 19:30

Evident that i was making a reasonable request asking that noone posted on it. Neither being bossy or ordering you to do so, simply suggesting.

I took great offence at the way you reacted.

A zillion others suggested the same thing as me and i'm the only one that gets a load of abuse.

Gosh i find mumsnet so friendly nowadays

Hattie, I dont think anyone has it in for you but I would find it annoying if someone started a thread with my name on to stop me posting somewhere else.

Report
hunkermunker · 05/08/2005 19:39

I didn't see the thread in question Hattie, I haven't got it in for you, but starting a thread to tell someone not to post on another one? Patronising, yes. Friendly, no.

Report
Hattie05 · 05/08/2005 19:43

Well patronising is not what its meant to be. If you don't know the thread in question, why bother getting involved! I used snafu's name in the thread title to get her attention didn't realise there was rule about thread titles with names in.

OP posts:
Report
hunkermunker · 05/08/2005 19:44

Because whatever the thread in question was about, it's still nothing but patronising to start another one!

Perfectly clear, IMO - why the ????

I don't know what the other thread was about, so unless it was about how lovely it is to start threads to tell other people not to post, I can't see how me commenting on what you did is in any way affected by me not reading the original thread!

spacecadet · 05/08/2005 19:48

hattie, no one has got it in for you and i think you are just making things worse for yourself, why not just leave it.
