Hi, I will be 30 in November and I'd like to have some sort of a party. I'm just not sure what to do. I want something memorable. I'm not a huge drinker and I wouldn't like paint balling.
I must sound a booring sod. Lol I love live music, especially folk. I love traditional, quaint pubs that have a great atmosphere. I live in Devon.
I'd be greatful for any ideas, I've never organised a party for myself before.

I'm going to a lovely looking pub in Exeter in a couple of weeks for a wedding maybe here and you could find a folk band to play
NB Sorry I realise devon is massive and you may not live anywhere near
PS happy birhtday

Thank you, we only live about an hour away from Exeter, so that might be nice.

Rent a big house/castle for the weekend and invite your friends for an all weekend party. If you split the cost of food/rent etc between you it's not necessarily that expensive and November is definitely the off season for rentals anyway.
You could get a band in for a party on the Saturday night also.

I did this for DH's birthday a few years ago in Scotland. We went hill walking during the day, sat in the hot tub (in the back garden) in the evening, had a huge sit down meal with some nice wines and it was very laid back and relaxed.

There's plenty of choice on the internet these days, but for starters you could try the landmark trust (pricy but very beautiful properties) or National Trust as well as English country cottages.

That sounds fab! I could ask them to split the cost instead of a pressie, hopefully they'd be o.k with that. I'll have a look.
