Any tax experts? Very boring divorce and money question!

Sorry, this is a quick very boring question but I thought it was worth a shot to see if anyone here knows - I have it in my head there's a tax accountant mumsnetter but I could be wrong! Ex dh has made me a divorce settlement offer (not a huge amount but it'll do) - will I have to pay tax on it? Any way (legally) round it if so? It will eventually be going towards a house so it's not pure spending money - not that I suppose the Inland Revenue care but there you go. We're still married technically but won't be shortly. Or does anyone know of a good website explaining these things? TIA to anyone who can help.

I have asked my colleague, as tax accountant and they say not, unless its coming from income arising from say a property that is rented out or a trust etc.. It's money between 2 individuals and your home can be included in this too apparantly. Hope this helpsxx
