Grrr he's peed the bed - how to clean mattress????

DS wet his bed last night for the first time, mattress is wet how should I clean it?

to dry it, use a towel to soak up some of the moisture and get a hairdryer on it.

I mop it dry, then spray with dettox and mop up, then stand somewhere in the sunshine to kill of germs, dry out and freshen up!

Then invest in a very good matress protector!

a weak solution of vinegar will take away the amonia smell

If you have any cat litter, sprinkle it over the wet part of the matress and then hoover it when its dry. It absorbs the wee so the matress won't smell.

I wash it with plain disinfectant using as little water as possible and then soak it up with kitchen roll and let it dry naturally. Fun isn't it?

Boots sell the hippychick mattress protector - or buy direct. fleecy and breathable so not nasty and plasticy to sleep on.

isn't bicarb of soda good for eliminating smells? I think you sprinkle it on when the matress is dry, rub it in, leave it and then hoover it off.
