I'm researching my family tree atm and my whole family as far back as I can trace is in this area. It's only in recent years that my Grandma has moved away from Midway in fact.
I know some of the areas quite well and others not so well. Nearly all of one branch of my family is listed as buried at 'York Rd Cemetery, Church Gresley'. My Dad was born in a house on York Rd though it was knocked down not long after. In fact I think most of that area was owned by my family (part of it was left in memory of one of my relatives as a public park- Maurice Lee?). Is this cemetery somewhere there? I'm logically assuming that it's on the York Road I remember as running by the memorial park? I'm assuming it's a Methodist burial ground if that helps.
I'm planning a trip up there to poke around and take lots of photographs of graves and the houses my family grew up in (the ones that are still there anyway). Just wondered if it's definitely in that area? Is it open to the public? Easy to find?
I have googled and it insists that I want St George and St Mary's Church in Gresley which I don't. Lots of info on that church and cemetery btw. York Rd, seems to be a bit Narnia-esque.
