cheap place to stay in London with a family? (ha, ha...)

We're looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful to stay for 2 nights in London - my best friend has had a baby and we're due to come down to do lots of cooing and to show ds1 the sights, but have been let down for somewhere to stay. Any ideas?!

what about here - near Hyde Park, close to tube stop, close to Oxford Street....

The Travelinn - or is ir Travelodge? - at County Hall has some reasonable rates, and you can all fit into one room. Try the TravelInns, travelLodges and HappyDays chains - they all have central locations.

we stayed at the County Hall Travel Inn and it was fine - huge room so we all fitted in and really close to all the main attractions.
