My Dad is 100 years old today!

Congratulations to your dad! Mine was 80 a few weeks ago and has been feeling a bit down and old, but obviously he's still a youngster.

My dad lives in Sourh Devon & his bungalow isn't really big enough for a family celebration, but my sister has been lent a lovely flat on the river dart overlooking the marina & the steam railway, so we all spent the day there, and went for lunch at the Royal Dart Hotel, which does amazing burgers and steaks which you cook yourself at the table on a lava stone - DH had bison steak. Then we went back to the flat looked through the book of family photos I'd had printed for him, and took lots of photos & videos. He had a lovely time, just a little sad that my mum wasn't still with us to see the day.

I know there are more centenarians (???) than there used to be but they're still pretty thin on the ground so congratulations to your dad!

You get a card now, not a telegram, with a nice picture of the Queen - it arrives by Royal Mail, but the Queen doesn't have to put a stamp on!

What colour was her dress, RB? (Some super-centenarian complained to Prince William when she met him that she got the same photo every year - yellow dress, I think - & after about 6 years wanted a change, & the next year she got blue )
