here's hoping that MN can help!
I got handed a few cartier pieces and now I'm wondering what they're worth so I know whether to insure them separately iykwim

OK here it goes

1 bangle in white gold with sort of screw top looking emprints and matching earrings

1 similar looking bangle with diamonds and matching earrings

1 pair of wyitegold and yellow gold earrings

1 pair of diamond set little stud earrings

And dont waste a thought on trying to rob me... they're going into our safe deposite box right now!

no idea of value but they sound fantastic - lucky you. Do wear them sometimes though and get some pleasure from them and the envious looks from others

Mrs BigD, best thing to do is to take them to a jewellers who will, for a small fee, give you a value for them in writing. Then you can keep that with your insurance details. That's what I did with a diamond ring I inherited.

Insurance companies may well insist on a proper valuation in order to list them separately anyway.

Can't help, sorry, but I did have a giggle when I saw the words 'urgent' and 'Cartier jewellery' in the same sentence.

agree that you need to get them properly valued by taking to reputable jewellers.

Shifty looking man in dodgy overcoat comes runnong up the street, seeing MrsD. He thrusts a handful of jewellery at her and says "'Ere, take this!" and pegs it down an alleyway closely followed by 2 policeman. Mrs D shuffles surreptitiously up the road to the corner and runs off.

Take them to Cartier in Bond St and they will value them

(they are wankers btw, i have regular rows with them over the price/quality of their watch straps )

definatley need valuing and written valuations for insurance purposes.
i have a cartier bagle which sounds like the second one you describe and it is listed sepaeratly on my contents insurance. (the most expensive piece of jewllery i own dh brought it when we sold our house and had already brought the new one so got to keep the extra. cost more than my engagement and wedding ring together.)
